She’s growing up so fast.
This weekend she got her very own Big Girl Bed. We tore down the crib and moved it to The Mommy and Daddy’s room for Baby Brother. And by “we” I mean “The Daddy.” The Benjamin refused to be put down so I, sadly, could not participate.
Then The Daddy moved the twin-sized mattress and box springs into Olivia’s room and positioned in so that only the smallest corner was not flush against a barrier of some sort.
She will have to perform some outstanding gymnastics to fall out of this bed accidentally.
Then he made the bed.
Hmm… which sheets to use? We have two sets of twin-sized sheets. One from my college days, and one from The Daddy’s. One is beige with a thin red plaid-type design. One looked like this:
Yep. It’s a good thing I had such good taste when I picked out this bedding as a freshman in college. Simply ideal for a toddler, no? Sigh.
And you just have to love that face.
“Um, guys? I thought this was going to be MY bed?”
And so far, the transition has gone wonderfully. She hasn’t cried out or tried to sneak out at all. I’ll have to peek in on my way to bed to see what has transpired, but I’m assuming she’s just so thrilled to have her own pillow that she’s not going ANYWHERE.
Haha I remember those sheets!! 🙂 That’s fun that you are reusing them!
That’s good that she’s transitioning so well! I’ve heard horror stories from friends of mine trying to do the same with their children. Nice sheets. 🙂
Larissa – I keep waiting for her to realize she can climb out on her own will. She seems to think I have to come in and give her permission.
And I’m not about to tell her otherwise.
Ha ha. That’s great.
