Sometimes I feel my Meet-and-Greet Monday posts fly under the radar. Maybe no one really cares to see pictures of the most beautiful children ever. And then my brother-in-law yells at me. And I feel loved.
Step Two in Dying Easter Eggs (after hard-boiling them, of course):
Color liberally with crayon.
(No, you didn’t skip over Step One. I did. There were no pictures of Step One.)
Ready for Step Three. Which I am not going to show you in detail. Because it’s just simply not that exciting. But I will show you the finished product:
See the far one there? I did that one. It’s a picture of an empty tomb with the stone rolled away. I’m so talented.
Fresh from her nap, tousle-haired, and absolutely beaming at the prospect of collecting candy-filled eggs. Benjamin is just thrilled at the bucket.
COME ON, baby bwutha, GET EXCITED ABOUT THE CANDY.
Last year, she was just excited about the eggs. They were new. They were colorful. They were hidden. We had to explain afterwards that there was food inside. This year, the first one she found she cracked open. “ANIMAL CRACKERS!”
(And yes, there were eggs with candy. That one was technically Benjamin’s.)
There ya go, B! Now put it in the bucket…
*Sniff* He’s growing up too fast.
Don’t even get me started on how ridiculously, absurdly, incomprehensibly fast she’s grown.
And, so I don’t end on a sappy note:
Finally. Easter dinner done right.

To participate in Meet-and-Greet Monday: Post pictures of someone you’d like to us to “meet” on your blog. It doesn’t have to be someone new each week (obviously – I post of the same two people each week). The idea is that someone new from the blogosphere will happen upon this site each Monday and we can “introduce” ourselves to them. Because this is a friendly place. Also, this is a great excuse to post pictures for the Grandmas.
Just make sure you are linking to your Meet-and-Greet post – NOT your homepage. It just makes life easier that way. Then put a link in your post back to here so that your readers can “meet” someone new today, too! And as always, thanks for keeping it family friendly.
As a child, we’d always got to my aunt & grandma’s house for Easter, and eggs would get hidden in the backyard during our nap. And Each would be marked with an initial letter, because my little sister liked to follow me around, wait till I found an egg, then snatch it before I did, doing none of the actual “finding” work on her own. With the initials, we had MY eggs and HER eggs, and she had to go find her own.
Ahh, your kids are sooo cute doing the Easter egg thing. I can’t believe that your little one figured out how to pick up the eggs, too! Good job making a real Easter dinner for your family, too! I’m impressed. 🙂
I like to see pictures of your kids too! I just didn’t yell at you because I had faith you would post them. 🙂
Aloha! I just discovered your blog. And since I posted some Easter (actually after easter) photos, I thought I might as well join this Easter Edition of Monday Greet and Meet.
Thanks for hosting this. I invite you to come visit me at my blog. I will be back here for more reading too.
