Now that I know I have The Craftiness within me (and the bad taste out of my mouth), I like to peruse the patterns and remnants on sale in various stores. I came across a pattern for less than $4 for some adorable summer dresses. Dresses seem easy enough, right?

Then I opened it up. I couldn’t make sense of it. So when my seamstress mother visited this past weekend, I drug her into my kitchen (aka, Craft Room) and begged for a tutorial.

I didn’t think I had enough fabric for an actual dress – I’d only been picking up random remnants for baby doll diapers. But, lo and behold, we DID!

(Does the fabric look familiar?)

And I have enough pink fabric left over (brown, too, as I cannot estimate to save my life and got an entire YARD for those little bits) for a baby doll dress, too!  Which my mom insists would be quite simple.  We’ll see.

Oh, and why don’t I have any pictures of Olivia in her new dress?  Because as soon as I finished it, the temperature dropped from 65 to 30.  It was pretty much instantaneous.  And a picture of her in the dress with a long-sleeved shirt and jeans underneath just wouldn’t do.  It just wouldn’t.
