Josh and I were having a conversation in the car. It was either yesterday or the day before. Or the day before that. The days tend to blur together.
Anyway, we were talking. I had some point I was trying to get across.
Meanwhile, in the back, Benjamin was chorusing, “Mommy. Mommy. Moooooooommy. Mommy!”
I ignored him and finished talking.
Then I turned around and very gently explained to him that interrupting was rude, and we are supposed to be polite, and we have to let other people finish their conversations, and we shouldn’t talk while they are talking, and especially if they are older than we are!
After my shpeel, which was long and thorough, I asked him, “What was it that you wanted to tell Mommy, sweetheart?”
To which, he enlightened me with the deep philosophical ponderings of a three year old boy:
“I’m sweaty.”

Have you had a Mommy Moment? Do share!
LOL
My youngest daughter, who’s 22mo and still nursing, did that to me for the first time just hte other day.
My husband and I were talking. She asked to nurse. I wanted to finish what I was trying to say to my husband, so I kind of ignored her as she crawled up into my lap and asked again to nurse. As we were just about done talking, she starts “Momma? Momma? Momma? Nuuuuuuuuuursey”
It was cute and I just HAD to giggle. Maybe when she’s a bit older I’ll explain the no-interrupting rule lol
