Last Sunday I got the call. Monday, arrangements were made and Tuesday, we made the three hour trip.
We are staying with Josh’s grandparents who live half an hour from my mom. Josh leaves Monday nights and returns Thursday nights to spend long weekends with us.
We spend our days at Josh’s grandparents, doing school and laundry and keeping Levi happy (he doesn’t like it when the Daddy is away). We eat dinner with my mom and visit until she gets too tired for our rambunctious company. Then we head home and go to bed.
She is very weak and tired so our visits are usually no more than a couple hours.
But I love that we get to see her everyday.
Oh Beth. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. I can’t imagine what you must be feeling right now, but I hope that you feel God’s love around you.
I am still praying and thinking of you and your family. Hugs from IL!
Capture each moment in the treasure cove of your heart, to be taken out and savoured later, when time permits. Lavish her with love, like I know you will. You have this precious time with her, I know its sad beyond words and painful in the extreme – but maybe find solace in the fact that you can be there to make her journey better, and softer, and loved. xxx
Hugs from miles away! Love you all!
I am so glad that you get to be with your mom right now… It’s so hard watching one’s mom decline (I know), but I will pray for strength and God’s grace over all of you right now.
I pray the time with your mom brings comfort and peace to each and every one of you!
Hugs and prayers, Beth. If you get a chance I’d LOVE to see you while you’re nearby. You can bring the kiddos over to run off some energy with mine. Feel free to e-mail me!
